This my first ever safety razor, and i am completely blown away by the results. The heft is wonderful, not too heavy, not too light. Its constructed very well, and it shaves like a dream. The length is perfect, but the thing i was surprised with the most was the grip. This thing hasnt slipped on me once, and it is just classy as hell sitting there on your restroom counter top. Only problem is I've had it for 3-4 weeks now and im still addicted to the experience.

In my search for a double edge razor, I discovered they are not popular for women, what a shame! While this is not my first experience using a double edge razor, it has been more than 30 years. The cost of razors spurred this purchase and I am very pleased with it! The razor is a wonderful weight and the handle isn't so large that it feels too big for a small woman's hand--I'm only 5' 3". No repeated passes to remove all the hair is a huge plus, after all, while faces surely are more tedious for all of the curves, legs present a far larger surface area. Should you be woman in search of a great razor, look no further, you've found shaving nirvana.

I've heard the weight distribution on the 38 series are pretty good and I've got pretty big hands, so I knew I wanted one. The other ones a little much for my liking (the patterned ones look a little too old school and the red and blue are too vibrant and the black was out of stock) so I went for the aluminum handle and the weight distribution really is all that. Glad to be back on the safety razor!

This Special Edition Merkur arrived very quickly and is beyond my expectations. It is beautiful, fine workmanship and just oozes quality... My first shave was very natural and I forgot it has been >40 years since I last used a double edge razor.

I stopped by RoyalShave one afternoon with some friends and the team outfitted us with all new razors! They told me they were running a promotion on this razor and that I'd get a free pack of blades if I bought it, so I did (I'm cheap, what can I say?!) I didn't know how I felt about the look of the old school barber pole at first, but they assured me that it would be good for a beginner because of the added weight in the handle. Sure enough! I have sensitive skin so I can't stand having to drag a razor against my skin and feeling the burn afterward, so I don't have to add any pressure and my skin feels great. Thanks RoyalShave!
