One of Merkur's latest innovations, the Merkur 39C HD
has a 4 ounce brass core handle that is slightly longer than the
original HD. Celebrated for its aggressiveness as well as its
classy design, the Barber Pole Slant orients the blade at angle,
bequeathing it the kind of bite best suited for a careful shaving approach.
Slant razors require very delicate pressure on the face, and the
additional focus on technique they demand
is well worth the closeness they offer.

Initially I ordered the 37c short version Slant Bar razor and it was fantastic. One pass is all you might need with it. But being use to a longer handle, I then bought the 39c model to give it a try. Although it's incredibly solid, I found the handle too heavy and for maneuverability with such an aggressive razor, you might want the short version for more control !
