The Merkur 23C (Merkur 180) is one of Merkur's best selling double edge safety razors. The 23C safety razor is the long handled version of the traditional Merkur 33C with the classic head. The close comb razor allows for a close shave without being overly aggressive. The extra long handle is comfortable for those that prefer the longer grip. The Merkur 23C has earned the respect and gratitude from men all over the world for it's high quality and great performance.

Just received my Merkur 23C razor. Got it in 3 days. Free shipping. This is my second razor from Royal Shave. I put an order in for a third razor recently. This Merkur is very comfortable to use. It would be foolish to order from any one else. You could get the same products elsewhere but not for the same price and FREE shipping. Thank you Royal Shave.

Note: This is my first non cartridge razor, so I'm just getting my feet wet. I've shaved approximately 6 times with it since purchase. I'm 26 with what I think is a medium beard in density and toughness. My first impressions were of the weight and finish. Coming from cartridges this razor feels like it's a proper tool in the hand! Solid with heft but not unwieldy, looks like it could be passed down through generations with nary an issue. The finish is great, the chrome being flawless. There was a minor scuff or some marring on the handle covering about 3-5 of the "diamonds" in length. Just a cosmetic thing, nothing that affects the way it performs. The handle itself feels secure when holding it and it has yet to slip even covered in lather. I have only used Merkur, Derby and Wilkinson blades so far. The Merkur and Wilkinson's both gave irritation free shaves with NO pulling, just sliding right over the face. Even though they weren't the most even shaves they were still the best shaves I've ever had, period. The Derby's with this razor are a different beast. They didn't so much cut the hair as rip it out of my face! Thats not to say they won't work for you, but for me I won't be using them again for some time until my technique improves. Again, a great razor and an excellent experience. Either way, I am more than satisfied with buying this razor. It's well worth the very reasonable price.

I am waiting patiently to receive my new Merkur 23, however, I could not wait to write a review regarding Royal Shave as a company. I never caught the name of the lady who had helped me, but because of her politeness, eagerness and patience to help and professional attitude I didn't even bother checking out any other online stores. I called, not even lokking to purchase, just to ask some questions I had regarding safety razors, the process and differences between cartridge shaving.I had learned to shave on a safety but have not used one for at least 17 years now. She answered every question I had with patience. She gave me the pro's and con's of everything. She was just perfect. If it had not been for her I would probably still be shopping around and researching. If she's the face and standard of Royal Shave then I will be a customer for life. Thank you who ever you are.

I received my Merkur 23 yesterday , tried it out this morning and I am very inpressed in the work man ship and overall quality. I have been DE shaving since 1968 and have never used a razor that shaved as well or had the balance of the Merkur 23. I replaced an old Schick I have used for years and if I would have known about the Merkur I would have retired it years ago.No nicks or cuts just smooth. An all around great razor. Very simple to change blades , locked up tight , easy to clean. I would recommend this razor to anyone old or new to DE shaving , Great German Quality.

I got really fed up with the price of disposable razor blades. On top of that, there wasn't one retail store that I could find that sold old fashioned safety razors. I chose the Merkur 23C because I liked it's long handle and the bar. I thought the bar would help control my shaving around my goatee. It's true I had a few minor nicks the first few times I tried it. But no more, I love this razor and you will too. It will pay for itself in a month or two. This is a well made razor and I highly recommend it.

I selected the 23C as my first DE razor for 2 reasons. First, it has a long handle, similar to the disposable razor I was used to; and second, it's "medium" weight. My initial choice was the Merkur 38C; however, transitioning from a "lightweight" disposable to a "heavyweight" razor was a concern to me, hence my selection. This razor is a solid performer...no regrets.

I would like to compliment Royal Shave for a job well done. The service was incredible. The product is awesome. Item ordered arrived on time and was packed well. I have been using this product for about 2 months. It gives a great close shave. I have tried everything out there. Double, triple blades and electric. I will not turn back. I fathers and grandfathers were definitely on to something. Try it. Look for shaving tips on you tube there are some good ones there.
