Merkur Progress Razor, Adjustable, Chrome, In Case w 10 Blades
|
Customer Rating:

The Merkur Progress Adjustable Razor was given it's name due to the innovative adjustable head. It has a twist-handle that calibrates several settings of
blade angles which allow for an even closer shave. The Progress was the first in its class to incorporate the adjustable head for unmitigated control.
Length: 85mm
Weight: 90 grams
Note: Comes in a plastic travel case with 10 Merkur Razor blades.

I have a 34C HD, which I like quite a bit, but I really love the adjustability of this razor. On the more conservative settings, I can shave fast and totally nick free. If you want to be more agressive, it'll do that too. The size of the razor makes for excellent maneuverability and control. Make sure when you reassemble after cleaning that you match the "dash mark" with the "triangle" for proper alignment and you can't go wrong. It's my favorite every day razor.

This is my second Merkur razor purchase, and I love these razors so much that I wish I had an excuse to buy more. But thanks to rock-solid German engineering, these suckers are so bullet proof and well made that I probably won't ever need to buy another. I already owned a Merkur Futur razor (which I've owned for a few years, and it is awesome), but I wanted a smaller DE razor for travel. The Progress is small enough to easily fit into any small travel case, but you won't feel like you've sacrificed any features or quality for the smaller form factor. Mine came with a cool plastic case that will come in handy when I throw this into my toiletry bag with all of my other crap when I'm on the road. If you're looking for a DE razor to be your main go-to razor, I'd recommend the Futur over the Progress because the longer handle is more comfortable and versatile, but the Progress makes a killer little travel-mate. Any of you out there who are still paying bank for those Gillette Fusions or Schick Quattros...you're throwing your dough away on a sucker's deal. You'll get a better shave with a double edge safety razor and you'll be paying pennies on the dollar for your blades.
