I heard many good and some negatives about Merkur DE razors. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this razor performed. The weight of this razor is very balanced. The one draw back is my nob on the bottom is a bit sticky however I haven't heard of this from anybody else. I highly recommend this razor to beginners or to a experienced wet shaver who wants to add another razor to their den.

Razor is solid and has excellent heft and balance. It lives up to the Merkur name quite well and is a pleasure to use.
OH Boy if you collect razors like I do this is Merkur magic. The grip fits your hand like it was custom molded. This is the BIG Brother of the Bakelite ..built like a tank but finished like a fine sports car. If you can squeeze one more razor in your shave den this is NICE. I told my other razors to take a number and wait their turn!!!!!!!
