This Joris Palladium razor (spiraling line pattern) is my absolute favorite razor, but it is for the experienced wet shaver, requiring a light touch. The solid weight (3.6oz./104g) of the handle provides all the pressure you'll need. Its long handle and bulbous shape is secure in your hand. Its open comb head is curved like a parenthesis, leading to an aggressive first pass for thick beards. However, the second pass is so easy that I often don't think about a third pass. Surprisingly, it rinses very clean between strokes. Much has been written over the decades about the craftsmanship of Joris razors. This Palladium Spiraling line pattern version is no different in that regard; everything about it is of exceptional quality, its plating equivalent to the finest Edwin Jagger or iKon razors, and Joris's hand-crafted attention to design. It all comes together for one balanced, elegant, and proud razor that will last a lifetime. I have used this razor about 10 times now and I am getting great shaves.The razor is an aggressive razor but not so aggresive that I get nicks or an uncomfortable shave.If the EJ R41 is too aggessive for you then this is the razor for you.
The weight of the razor takes a little getting used to and it is heavy but now I do not even notice it.
In my opinon this razor is a beauty and a keeper.

Just bought the joris and my first two shaves with it produced horrible razor burn. I adjusted my technique (little to no pressure) and I have since been thoroughly impressed. With proper technique I now get the closest shaves of any de that I have tried to date (own a futr and feather). Highly recommended. The finish and weight of the razor is top notch. |
