I received this razor today and it sharpened up quickly on a strop. The edge shown like a sparkle from a diamond, it cut through my beard like a white hot knife though butter. This razor takes the best edge of all the razors I own. The heat treatment of the steel alloy is excellent as it's a hard as a diamond. I know DOVO has been making this same model for over 75 years and I can see why. In my opinion the Silver Steel holds an edge better than any of their stainless steel alloy models. You won't get stung by purchasing this razor you will be very pleased. AAA+
