This razor uses double edge razor blades that have been broken into half. The blades are held by plastic inserts, Red or Green. Each color holds a different size of blades. Because the blades are disposable it eliminates the cost of starting to shave with a straight razor. So whether you’re just not sure if you want to use a straight razor or you want to keep down the initial cost this is a great razor.

Red (comes with the razor): This insert accepts standard double-edge blades which are snapped in half thereby doubling the economy factor. This is best for detailing of beards and moustaches.

Green: This is a longer blade then the red insert but it holds a blade that has a ridged back. The blade it accepts is item number 409-008-00. This blade is preferred for long term shaving.
