The Dovo Shavette is a convenient and affordable way to get started with straight razor shaving. It's also great for traveling and barbershops or stylists. The razor holds plastic inserts which house the disposable blades. This shavette includes one red insert and one black insert.
Red Inserts: Uses standard double edge blades which are snapped in half thereby doubling the economy factor.
Black Inserts: Uses a longer double edge blade which is preferred for long term shaving.

This was my first endeavour into the straight razor world. My previous experience in wet shaving has been with DE safety razors which when I started using, came much more naturally to me coming from cartridge razors. I've tried using this now a couple times and I keep getting little cuts and some rough razor burn, although this is probably due more to my lack of use of straight razors than of the razor itself. This comes with 1 Dovo DE blade, but I would encourage looking into using some other DE blades like maybe Feather since the Dovo blade wasnt very sharp. All in all it has been ok for me, hopefully I can get better technique and it will start to get better for me

My Barber uses this exact same razor to shave my head and face once a week. Does an excellent job with this tool.

I got one of these for Christmas to learn how to shave with a straight razor before I invest the time and $$ into a "real" straight razor. I've been using it daily and have no complaints about it yet. The only thing I would like is if it came with the black and green inserts for longer blades to more closely mimic shaving with a "real" SR.

DO NOT BUY THIS IF: you are a beginner to wet-shaving this is for hairstylists who create edges and KNOW what they are doing. I tried to shave with this and the edges are horrendous. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY. Unless you are a professional Barber who knows how to use this product. Royal Shave needs to UPDATE their product explanations!!!!
