I bought one of Royal's big multi packs. This was the only one out of the 7 brands that I didn't like. Shaved new like a used Feather after 8-12 shaves, pulling and tugging straight out of the box. Tried 3 out of the 5 blades in the package. All were the same. Won't be buying these.

The Gods may have aligned. Great Proraso lather, Merkur 33C and this blade. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I've got to go back and check on the Feathers and Gilette 7O'Clocks but so far Kai is in the front...

I tried these to try and find something not quite as sharp as the Feather. This has to be the dullest blade I have ever tried and I have tried multi-packs to check out blades. I use the Merkur Vision, Futur, & Progress, Muhle R41, and Feather Stainless (I also have the cheap Feather with the plastic handle but have not used in a long time) and rotate between the razors. One can do better than this blade.

These blades out perform any other blade i've tried bar none. A much better shave then the feather. At any skill level these blades should be anybody's choice. They leave no irritation or razor burn. And absolutely the best shave I've had try numerous double edged blades. I will always have plenty on hand!

I started using a safety razor a few months ago and did the typical research trying to figure out what blade shavers like best and why. With that said I ended up trying many different ones. This one never nicked me. No frills or adornments, this blade is sharp and efficient. Like it more than the feather and have yet to find one that matches its quality.

Awesome blades. These are arguably one of the best blades you can buy. The only blades I've tried that sharper and smoother than these are Feather.

First shave with the kai after trying merkur, Derby and lord. The kai cut through my beard with no problem. I did two passes with no cuts and got a very close shave. I always get razor burn on my neck and these razors did not irritate my neck at all.

the Kia are more sharp than the Feather, but with less irritations and risk of cuts. i love them. Maybe not for beginners, but otherwise perfect.

Clearly there's no consensus about this blade, based on these reviews. All I can add is that I've tried dozens of DE blades over the years, including the highly touted Feather, and none of them gave me as smooth and as close a shave as the this blade. While it's hard for me to comprehend why anyone dislikes this blade, beard coarsness, water softness, cream vs. soap, shaving technique are all factors that have an effect how a blade performs. Another example of why YMMV (your mileage may vary) is the motto of the wet shaving blogger community.

Reviewer: Chris B (Saint Louis, MO)

I didn't find these blades particularly sharp so I was a bit disappointed after trying these in a sample pack I ordered. Out of all of the blades I've tried, these pulled and tugged at my beard the most making these the least comfortable double edge blades I've owned. As far as blade life is concerned, I didn't use any of these for more than two shaves. I can usually get three good shaves out of a decent blade. In short, I won't be buying any more of these.

I have been using feather blades for years and I just tried out the Kai blades, and all I can say is WOW! they are seriously sharp. Great shave, no irritation and left my face feeling incredibly smooth. They are a little more expensive then the feathers so the shave is noticeable
