You like Feather or Merkur, which I got in samplers and don't really like. I like Wilkinson and Lord, of which you have some packages you don't want. Do you want to swap? Contact me. fredjonasmd@gmail.com

The first time I used a Feather, I was so impressed with how close it got me. I was pumped, I thought- "This is what I call CLOSE." I didn't think I'd ever be buying another blade again. Next shave was also pretty good, but I got a few tiny nicks on that one. By the third shave, I was pretty nicked up. And by the fourth shave, I was really not enjoying myself. I am pretty experienced with a DE razor and I usually get zero nicks when I shave. The Feather blades are definitely the thinnest (sharpest) blades I've used, but they don't seem to last too long. And considering how sharp they are, if you're not using a fresh one, you have to be very careful if you make a few passes. They're also too priceyfor me to be replacing after two shaves. I will admit, I usually lather up at least three times and make three passes, (WTG, ATG, XTG) and maybe that's why these blades aren't my favorite. I just prefer a tougher, sharp blade that lasts a little longer. But if money grew on trees, I'd buy Feathers and change them each time I shaved!

I just finished face shaving for the first time with a Feather. There reputation is well deserved. They are the sharpest! I took it very slow and used a very lite touch and got a BBS shave....and so fast too, as quick as a duck on a June bug. I had a skid mark or two on the neck, but I did go three ways to get it smooth. Kenneth, likes'um!

Whats funny about the last review is that I would call myself a novice and this is one of the few blades I can use. I feel a lot of the others I have tried tug too much on my whiskers causing irritation. All in all I chalk it up to everyones face/ skin/ beard is different and you need to find what works for you. These and the Wilkinson Swords seem to work best for me.

Reviewer: Sylvain Poma (Charlotte, NC)

I know, some swear by these. My face can't take them at all. I needed a blood transfusion after using these. Way too sharp, definitely to a fault. I've tried every angle on my razor with these and so little pressure that I barely took the shave cream off and it still feels like holding a hot iron to my face. Certainly not for beginners or novice.

These are the worst blades I've ever used. They're extremely unpredictable. I'm told Feather is an unusually thin blade, and it's supposed to be extra sharp. If that's true, it may be that they're machined so thin that there's little control over the edge. I've used some that will last a week, and others were no good at the first use. And they do cut: skin. I wouldn't, if I were you.

By far the best, sharpest razor blade I've tried so far. Tried the Merkur blade, what a piece of c!@*. Then tried this even with all of its horror stories about being super sharp and had the best shave of my life. No irritation or hair tugging with this one, it even blasted though a weeks worth of growth like nothing. Highly recommend this one. Caution though, the newer the blade, the more attention you have to pay to your technique.

Just tried one of these in a Merkur 11C , what a close shave , sharpest blade I have ever used. Keep a light touch. I will order more of these.

I tried most others and I was sure I will find them in general similar. But Feather is special. No cuts. Smooth. No burn. Can't say anything else. There are blades and there is feather.

I am a ATG Against the Grain shaver for 35 years. I guess back then you kind of needed to. With the Feather Stainless Platinum's I get a great shave against the grain but as most say, its the technique that counts, and I would not recommend ATG for the novice. A Merkur Futur set at 2- 2.5 works fine. A Merkur Vision you have to set on your own as they're settings are a bit flaky, but great shavers none the less. I've tried all kinds of soap and brushes and still get the best shave after a nice hot shower and Edge Gel. That may be heresy to many of you but it works for me. PS. If you have an old Gillette adj. try #5.......

I have tried the sample packs and found that for me, Derby and Feather are the best, with Feather the clear winner. I use them with both a Feather stainless safety razor and a Pils razor, and they work well in both. Everyone should give them a try at least once.

Reviewer: Gerald (Stanford, CA)

These blades are sharp, no doubt. However, they are too sharp for my requirements, and give me irritation each time I use them. Oh well, if I want an adventure in the bathroom I will turn to them. Can't comment on their longevity, but I'm sure they are pretty good in that department as well.

I received these in a sample pack. These blades are very sharp and power through a couple day or two of thick growth with ease. They are, however, more irritating than some other blades. This is probably a consequence of their sharp nature.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Perhaps the sharpest blade made, 6.29.2010
Reviewer: DC Jones (San Francisco, CA)

An excellent blade, perhaps the sharpest blade currently made. I find that these yield a superb shave, but with a touch of irritation, perhaps because the blade is so sharp. They do seem to work better in razors that are somewhat less aggressive. Some people report attaining up to 5 shaves with the Feather, I can only manage two; I think this is the case as the blade is so sharp that it dulls quickly. Even with these caveats the blade is still one of the best blades currently produced. Five Stars.
