Searching for a soft introductory level shaving brush, I chose this product based on the price and the fact that its pure badger hair. It does the job well and is soft on my face when "painting" the cream on. My only disappointment is that it has a scent to it, which I assume to be badger hair scent. Because it's my first brush, I'm not sure if this is typical of all brushes, but I'm sure the smell will diminish with more uses.
