Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap in Dish
|
Customer Rating:
|
Made in Bradford, England, this delicately scented shaving soap was born
almost a century ago, when chemist Fred Mitchell discovered it was
the lanolin in wool fat that was keeping the hands of local sheep shearers
and wool sorters so unnaturally soft. Mitchell's wool fat soap
continues to use lanolin
and other organic ingredients that soothe sensitive skin. This 4.4 oz
soap, which has been broadly recommended by dermatologists to alleviate skin
complaints, comes in a ceramic bowl with a lid.

The quality of this soap is almost unbelievable. You can tell from the first use that it is exceptional. The scent is somehow familiar and comforting. When you use it, it soon becomes like an old friend. After a while, you don't want to use anything else. Glide and protection are top notch. The quality of the lather is phenomenal. Thick and creamy.
Get to know the puck, and you will soon be saying "good morning" to it... :)

I received my dish of Mitchell's Wool Fat in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and I am amazed with the results! It makes a wonderful lather, which leads to a very comfortable and enjoyable shave. Its also packaged BEAUTIFULLY! It comes in a thick box that has the Mitchell's Wool Fat logo on it, which contains the dish (with the soap puck in it) that is shown in the picture. The dish is more beautiful in person than in the picture, and I absolutely love the quality of the it! The soap itself smells great; however, it is a little strong at first, but the strength of the scent reduces after your first use. Also, there is a technique to building a lather with this soap, but once you have that down, you will continually see the highest quality results with one of the best shaving soaps you'll ever use! This is a very high quality soap and is definitely worth the money, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Mitchell's Wool Fat (MWF or Da Fat) is a tallow based soap with lanolin that has an aroma I'd categorize as simply "soapy". It provides a rich, creamy lather that lets the razor glide effortlessly over my face and leaves my skin feeling intensely cared for right after the shave. One of my favorite soaps and has earned a permanent place in my shave locker. |

I have tried many wet shaving soaps and Mitchell's Wool Fat is by far the best. This product deserves top rankings in lather ability, moisturizing and scent. It is a rare experience to find a soap that lives up to the hype that all wet shaving enthusiasts preach, but this my friends, is shave heaven.

Simply the most complete shaving soap I have used. It has a fresh light fragrance but even more importantly is the moisturising and lather properties of this soap. The ceramic bowl is very nice and has a nice oldey world look. If I could have only one shaving soap in my bathroom this would be it.
