This versatile, non-toxic product is known as Germany's "Wonder Oil". We recommend Ballistol Lube to keep your Carbon Steel straight razors from rusting. Simply add a few drops onto a cloth and apply directly onto carbon steel razor to stop corrosion of the blade. Great for use with storing straight razors.

Ballistol is legendary in the shooting sports as an all purpose cleaning, lubing, protecting oil for both black powder and regular firearms. It was invented in the early 20th century to provide a single oil for guns, leather, even some wound treatment. It is a non-petroleum oil that, mixed with water, is used by organic gardeners to protect plants from aphids and other preying insects. Guns packed in Ballistol for decades have been taken out of the packing and found in perfect shape. Whenever I put a straight razor away, or hone one for someone else, I coat the blade with a thin layer of Ballistol liquid (not the aerosol, I don't like aerosols!). It forms a nice protection for the rust-prone carbon steel blade. There is no end of other uses!
