I first used ballistol to clean guns. It works for all powders including black powder. I also mix ballistol with water and a little baking soda for a great organic garden spray to protect my garden plants from insects. The oil is a non-petroleum base, I think a kind of mineral oil. When I finish using one of my straight razors, I dry it, strop it, and coat it with a thin layer of ballistol to protect the rust-prone carbon steel against rust.
I even hear you can spray ballistol on your children and they behave better, but that's strictly rumor!

This product is an excellent lubricant and preservative, great for your razors and other fine tools. You can even use it on leather. You won’t be disappointed with this product. It is made from coal not petroleum. |
