This Dovo handheld strop is ideal for professional or personal use, and makes a fine substitute for a hanging strop when travelling. This strop has a screw mechanism to allow for tension adjustment of the leather. On one side is genuine cowhide with fine abrasive red sharpening paste to sharpen the blade and the other side is smooth genuine cowhide leather for finish stropping.

The leather is ok, the tension mechanism is great and the paste side provides a very nice coarser polish for a dull blade. I will say though, the size is very short and very narrow and the leather of similar priced strops are far superior. I will be putting a different paste on the top side of this strop to use only for dull blades and purchasing a new 3" Russian leather strop for a final "clean" stage sharpening.
