After extensive research at the University of Liege, it was discovered that the Belgian Blue Whetstone had identical sharpening properties as the long revered Yellow Whetstones. It is derived from iron oxide deposits and has a 30% garnet weight, which makes it slightly slower to uncover the same results as the yellow whetstones. The thickness of the stone ranges from 13-16mm and is a single side stone with a grit of approximately 4000.
